CPD For Accountants - CPD Navigator
Wherever you are on your professional development journey, the CPD Navigator will provide guidance on next steps to acquire new skills, explore career opportunities and grow your talent.
The CPD Navigator gives you the opportunity to assess your strengths and weaknesses in relation to 6 key areas of professional competence within an accounting or advisory firm environment:
Workflow
This section incorporates skills relating to the management of projects, jobs and tasks for which you are responsible now or you may have responsibility for in the future. Whilst Manager and Partners are ultimately responsible for workflow, all employees should take responsibility for their jobs and tasks
Team
This section incorporates skills relating to your collaboration with managers, colleagues and people with whom you interact on a regular basis. Traditionally, managers and partners are responsible for teams, however accountants and administrators may manage and delegate tasks through agreement with colleagues.
Clients
This section incorporates skills relating to your understanding of and communication with clients. Traditionally, managers and partners will have primary client relationship responsibility. However, anyone who is involved with client work either directly or indirectly should make the time to understand client needs.
Growth
This section incorporates skills relating to your ability to identify ways to better service existing clients or engage new clients. Traditionally, partners will have primary responsibility for business growth strategies. However, anyone who is involved with clients has the opportunity to identify ways to add value to existing relationships.
Administration
This section incorporates skills relating to your ability to manage administrative tasks in the most effective way. All employees within professional firms have some responsibility for administrative tasks. They should also take the time to consider how administrative systems and processes could be improved.
Technical
This section incorporates skills relating to your technical role and responsibilities. Whilst the CPD Navigator does not focus on technical skills, you are asked to consider in general terms your ability to take on these tasks in relation to your current and future role in professional practice.
By identifying your strengths and weaknesses, you can explore areas of key focus for the future learning. We recommend that you review your capabilities with the CPD Navigator on an annual basis.
We will provide recommendations for future courses available through CPD For Accountants. All our courses are eligible for CPD Hours within Australia and New Zealand. Refer to CPD for Accountants.
